Hi! We’ve heard you’ve been missing Henry & Basil.
In the past month, the cats have been practicing their mischief. They’ve jumped onto tables, clambered over flower pots, fought in the night, and begged for treats. Henry, giving in to his predatory instincts, was stung by a bee.
Chapter 1: Portraits of Basil
Basil has bulked up, growing into himself surprisingly quickly, and he’s found a new nest for himself in a cloth basket. He hits Lily whenever she walks by at night.
Chapter 2: The Lion King
Basil is also a big fan of fetch. While Henry will lounge in the sun, immobile and immune to toys, Basil will bring a toy to us and demand a game. When we throw his bird, he’ll return it promptly, again and again until we’ve exhausted him.
Chapter 3: The Big Boy
Henry is loud, but cuddly. He’s prompt. In the morning he’ll yell for breakfast at the first sound of the alarm. When he’s not eating or playing, he’s lounging in the sun, following the sunbeams as they move throughout the day.
Even when he’s mid-lounge — especially when he’s mid-lounge — Henry is excited when we come to say hi. He’ll roll on his back and wait for belly rubs, even if he’s wedged behind a planter.
We were surprised Basil could play fetch, too. Want to guess how much of an athlete this little animal is? We’ll reveal the answer in the next edition of Two Cats.
Until next time,
Lily & Tys
