Henry and Basil are all grown up. We’ve discussed how to tell the story of two cats from here — there won’t be the frequent life and growth updates there were in kittenhood.
Henry loves to nest. Here, he made a cute nest on the couch out of Lily’s crochet and a log pillow Tys’s grandmother gave us. Once Henry discovers a new soft object, he will claim it for a while and sleep with it until he finds the next one. We love that about Henry — he seeks novelty and comfort.
Basil loves lettuce. Loves lettuce. Here, he’s lazing with Henry on the couch while he bites away at a large leaf of fresh lettuce. He’s not very good at taking bites, so we will sometimes end up hand-feeding him through an entire leaf. He loves bib lettuce the most, and will tolerate mesclun.
When we put down any bag, Henry tries it on for size. He’s gotten large enough that Lily’s backpack is too small to use as a bed.
That’s not one of ours! This is Benito, the neighborhood bodega cat. Now that we have two, we seem to see black cats everywhere — that’s all the luck in the world.
Tune in next time for more moments we love,
Tys & Lily
