When we moved to Brooklyn, we bought a new (p)leather chair. Henry fell in love. We didn’t realize it would become his new resting spot, but without fail he hops onto the seat each night after dinner for an evening nap. Very often, he spends the afternoon sprawled out on the wide cushion in the sun.
Basil, on the other hand, has fallen in love with the new pouf. He paws at it, sleeps awkwardly on its hemisphere, and is endlessly fascinated by its ropey surface.
Perhaps carnivorous pets are drawn to the remnant of prey. Basil’s choice is to lie next to leather boots. He guards the kill.
Until next time,
